Getting Stronger! Pt. 6

Before starting this stage, finish your Revendreth quest chain — it rewards the Ashen Ring and the Memories of Ash and Blood necklace. It is also worth maxing the upgrade on any legendary weapons or items you already have before you continue.

This stage is best saved for later — once you already have some Mythic 25 gear and a few Death Cache Tier 2 opened, not right away.

Farm Death Caches and open them — they can contain strong weapons and armor to replace what you are currently wearing. Death Cache Tier 2 is also a common reward from the chest at the end of a completed Mythic+ run, so keep pushing keystones while you farm these.

Before you replace the legendary weapon you crafted back in “Your First Legendary Weapon”, buy the Legendary Soul Extractor from Koi (3,000 Soul Sphere) and use it on that weapon. This destroys both the weapon and the Extractor, but produces a Soul item (Soul of Banshee’s Blight, Dragonwrath, Thunderfury, or Shadowmourne) carrying its power — use that Soul item on whichever new weapon you choose to enchant it with the same power.

For legendary ITEMS that are not weapons, use the Soul Stealing Device instead — right-click it, then click the legendary item. This destroys the item and charges the device with its power. Soul Stealing Devices can also come from the Mythic+ completion chest, so you will likely pick some up naturally while pushing keystones.

Before Memories of Ash and Blood can be upgraded, it needs all three Empowerments (I, II, and III) applied to it first — the upgrade will not proceed without them. Once it has all three and you have completed Miser’s questline for Memory Fragments, spend 10,000 Red Anima plus 5 Memory Fragments to turn it into Ash and Blood.

Once you have Ash and Blood, use your charged Soul Stealing Device on it to transfer that captured power onto the necklace — it can hold up to 6 stolen powers at once.

Death Caches have a low chance to contain an Uber item instead of a normal one. Uber items come with a flat health % bonus, high Corruption Resistance, and a high item level — among the best gear this system can give you.

Death Cache items can also be improved further with Empowerment I/II/III, and corrupted later on once you are ready for that risk. See “Death Caches & Soul Stealing” in Core Systems for the full breakdown.
