Can't Log In? Troubleshooting
Most connection problems come down to a short list of causes. Work through these in order.
1. Is the server up?
The server restarts now and then and is usually back within a few minutes. Check the Discord before changing anything on your end.
2. Use the launcher
Always start the game from the Mythic Munchers launcher. It updates itself, so let it finish before you press Play.
3. Check your sign-in
Sign in with the email and password you registered on the website. “Wrong email or password” means exactly that. “This account has no game account” means your website account has no game account attached, so ask for help in the Discord.
4. Antivirus and VPN
The launcher changes the game while it starts, which some antivirus programs flag as suspicious. Add the game folder to your exclusions if yours blocks it. A VPN can also get in the way, although see Xfinity below.
5. Xfinity customers
Several players on Xfinity could not connect at all. The cause is the “Advanced Security” option in the Xfinity app. Turn it off, add the server to the allow list in the app’s router settings, or use a VPN.
6. Repair
Close the game, open the launcher and press Repair. Use this after a crash on launch, or when the game says your installation is damaged.
7. “You have been disconnected”
This means the connection dropped at login. Go through the steps above. If it still fails, post the exact error code in the Discord.
Problems after you are in
- Lag during huge pulls: smaller pulls are safer.
- Custom content missing after an update: turn on Clear cache before launch in the launcher, then start the game again.
- When you report a crash, say what you were doing at that moment: which spell, which content, how many enemies. That is the most useful detail you can give.
